Installation:
Mulund branch of IMA, has change of guards every two years. So this time it was decided to install new managing committee under the able guidance of President, Dr. Ramesh Punjani on 24/06/2018. Chief guest of this ceremony was Padmabhishan Dr. T. E. Udwadia, a visionary surgeon & Teachers' Teacher. It was held at Kalidas Marriage Hall, P. K. Road, Mulund(w), Mumbai-400080.
As compared with the previous installations, the invitees included all leaders of communities like, Kutchhi Lohan Samaj, KVO Samaj, KDO Samaj, Bhanushali Samaj, Ghogari Samaj, Rotary clubs, Lions clubs, Manav jyot, Jalaram Satsang Mandal, All political parties, T ward office, Mulund Police station etc. This was because the theme of next two years was community related.
There was a skit played by doctors narrating today's life of a doctor, ending with unpleasant element of violence. President gave his ideas of solving this issue & chief guest gave a vision in patient care. There was a musical orchestra by Harmony events & sumptuous lunch by Asmi caterers.
Installation ceremony of new managing committee of
MULUND BRANCH OF INDIAN MEDICAL ASSOCIATION
2018-2020, was held on 24th June 2018 at Kalidas marriage hall.
Dr Ramesh Punjani was installed as new President, Dr Jesal Sheth as new secretary, Dr Tejas Upasani as new treasurer and Dr Mahesh Thakkar as president elect of Mulund IMA.
Dr Tehemton Udwadia, a visionary laparoscopic surgeon was the chief guest.
The highlight of the program was the skit prepared by the doctors which portrayed the Doctor-Patient relationship. Dr Ramesh Punjani, explained the strained Doctor- Patient Relationship & novel measures to improve on it. He declared the theme for the next two years as improvement in Doctor-Patient Relationship. As a mass awareness, IMA has decided to come out with a news letter “ Healthline” to be distributed free of cost to 10,000 patients visiting different hospitals & clinics every month for next two years, Mrs.Sushma Thakkar entertained the guests with her Divine Harmony orchestra.
Around 450 people attended the function.
Mulund IMA is also organising blood donation drive on Sunday 1st July 2018 at Mulund railway station to celebrate the Doctors Day.
Blood donatoin Camp:
1st July is celebrated as Doctor's day in India. Doctors of Mulund decided to go for Blood donation camp on 1st July 2018. In association with Rotary club of Mumbai Mulund South (Dist 3141), a camp was organised on Platform no 1, Mulund Railway Station, Mrs. Rajeshwari Kori, ex naval officer & deputy collector of Raigad, Maharashtra along with Dr. Nilesh Palve, Medical Officer T ward inaugurated the camp. Mrs. Kori, President IMA, Doctors. Rotarians as well as Railway commuters were the donors. 81 units of Blood collected & given to Rajawadi & Samarpan Blood Bank.
